WHAT IS THE HOME AND NATIVE SOUND SERIES?
On October 8th, 2010 the Toronto Independent Music Awards (TIMAs) launched the Home and Native Sound Series (HNSS). The HNSS concept is a renovated spin on the TIMA BEST LIVE showcase series, which began in 2006. HNSS consists of three genre categories: HNSS – Electric, HNSS – Acoustic, and HNSS – Urban. The competition takes place over 3 Seasons. Performances are every other Sunday at Clinton’s Tavern in Toronto, Ontario. Every act each showcase is judged by industry professionals. The top 5 scoring acts in each HNSS are nominated for a Toronto Independent Music Award. The top scorer in each category will win a Toronto Independent Music Award, a chance to perform at the TIMA award ceremony and a $15,000 prize package. Winners will be announced at the 6th TIMA award ceremony on August 2012 in Toronto, Ontario.
